In July 1997, Matthys and Anneke Schoombie acquired Middelburg Jurgens from the previous owners. Then known as Wilger Kampeer Mekka, and trading as Middelburg Jurgens, the Schoombie’s immediately set out to expand the franchise as well as to develop the Campworld Shop into a modern and well stocked facility with excellent service to boot.

By the end of 1998, Middelburg Jurgens was bursting at the seams! 

On 1st January 1999, we relocated to newer and larger premises, where we are now currently located. The move was to be more central for our existing and future clients, with the added advantage to enable us to expand as and when required. The added benefit for our client base was the ability to extend superior service that is second to none, all under one roof. 

  

As the winners of the Jurgens Ci Quota Trophies for three consecutive years, we truly hope that with the excellent products and accessories we carry and supply to the public, that we will go from strength to strength, and maintain the proficient service and dedication that we are renowned for. 

 

We look forward to the future, and with every product that leaves our premises, more and more camping and non-camping  members of the public will become aware of our dedication to our passion, and we will strive to maintain the caravanning industries tremendous image at all times. 

Not to be outdone, in due course it was also apparent that the Campworld Shop also was rapidly developing into an extremely well stocked and versatile range, and existing merchandise, such as the Howling Moon range required expanding upon, and that the acquisition of new products and commodities was inevitable.

It is our goal to impress upon as many people as possible, the caravanning and camping way of life that we all enjoy so much, and that Middelburg Jurgens offers the recipe for service-excellence as well as after sales service that our clients expect from a professional caravanning and camping team. 

 

It was soon evident that the workshop was rapidly developing into a panel shop and was also capable of doing more sophisticated repairs on the premises.
